Heavy Petal » Step-by-step: How to make seed balls.

Seed balls are a fun, simple way to spread seeds around.  The idea comes from Masanobu Fukuoka (i hope I spelled that right), a japanese gardener who imitates nature rather than trying to fight against it.  His book the One-Straw Revolution is a fantastic resource explaining his philosophy and techniques.

One technique is the seed balls, in which various seeds are coated in clay and nutrients and then thrown into fields, when it rains they will break apart and grow with everything they need.
